FAQ
Common questions
-
What is the difference between return-to-work and fit-for-duty?
A return-to-work evaluation is performed when an employee is coming back after an injury, illness, or leave. A fit-for-duty exam confirms an employee can safely perform their job at any time — including post-offer, after a safety incident, or when there are concerns about their ability to work safely.
-
How long does an evaluation take?
Most return-to-work and fit-for-duty exams take 30–45 minutes, depending on the complexity of the case and whether functional testing is required. Results and documentation are typically provided the same day.
-
Do you work with employers directly?
Yes. We partner with employers, HR teams, and case managers across Charlotte. We can accommodate specific job descriptions, restriction forms, and return-to-work protocols your organization uses.
-
Is the exam DOT-compliant?
For DOT-regulated drivers, we perform DOT return-to-duty evaluations as part of the SAP process. For non-DOT employees, our standard fit-for-duty and return-to-work exams follow occupational medicine best practices and ADA guidelines.
